Your Mission
We’re seeking a Division Order Analyst to join Stronghold’s Land team, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring ownership and revenue interests across the Firm’s oil and gas portfolio are accurate, documented, and properly administered.
You’ll be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and reconciliation of ownership records and revenue decimal interests across Stronghold’s mineral, royalty, and working interest portfolio. Your work will require you to dig into division orders, title documentation, ownership reports, operator records, and revenue discrepancies to make sure the details behind our assets are right.
This is the right role for someone who understands oil and gas ownership, knows how to work through complex title and decimal interest questions, and brings exceptional attention to detail. You’ll work cross-functionally with Land, Title, Legal, Accounting, and Data Operations, giving you visibility across the full ownership and revenue lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Own
- Own the division order process. Review, analyze, and process division orders and the ownership documentation supporting them.
- Get the decimals right. Calculate, verify, and maintain revenue and royalty decimal interests using title opinions, runsheets, ownership reports, and other supporting documentation.
- Set up new assets accurately. Establish newly acquired assets in internal systems and confirm ownership is correctly reflected within operator systems.
- Solve ownership and revenue discrepancies. Research and resolve ownership conflicts, suspended funds, unpaid or underpaid revenue, and discrepancies involving decimal interests.
- Keep ownership records current. Prepare and submit change-of-ownership, name change, address change, and payment instruction documentation to operators.
- Maintain the underlying records. Keep owner, lease, well, and unit information accurate and current, including curative tracking and supporting documentation.
- Partner across the organization. Work closely with Land, Title, and Legal on curative requirements, conveyances, and post-closing obligations.
- Connect ownership to revenue. Support revenue reconciliation and partner with Accounting to research variances between expected and received revenue.
- Make the information actionable. Prepare reports and summaries covering ownership changes, division order status, and outstanding revenue issues.
- Support audits and data integrity. Provide accurate data and documentation for internal and external audits while maintaining compliance with internal data policies, procedures, and applicable state regulations.
Qualifications – What You Bring
- 2+ years of relevant experience. Hands-on experience in division order analysis, land administration, or a closely related oil and gas function.
- Strong oil and gas ownership knowledge. You understand mineral interests, royalty interests, overriding royalty interests, working interests, and net revenue interests.
- Document fluency. You can confidently read and interpret deeds, leases, assignments, title opinions, unit designations, pooling agreements, and related ownership documentation.
- Decimal interest expertise. You’re comfortable calculating and reconciling ownership and revenue decimal interests and identifying when something doesn’t add up.
- Regional regulatory familiarity. Working knowledge of regulatory systems and unit structures in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
- Strong systems and Excel skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working within land management or enterprise data systems.
- Analytical precision. You have exceptional attention to detail and can independently identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to manage volume. You can handle a high volume of transactions and competing deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
- Clear communication. You communicate effectively with stakeholders across Land, Title, Legal, Accounting, and other teams.
- Relevant education. Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Land Administration, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart
- Oil & gas division order experience. Direct experience administering ownership and revenue interests within an upstream oil and gas environment.
- Multi-state experience. Experience working with ownership, unit structures, and operator requirements across Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
- Strong land and title foundation. Experience working directly with deeds, leases, assignments, title opinions, pooling agreements, and curative documentation.
- Land systems experience. Familiarity with land management, ownership, or enterprise data platforms and the ability to work comfortably across large datasets and ownership records.
